Shopping for Souvenirs when you are staying at the Algonquin is as easy falling out of a canoe! We are the home of Groovy Glass Beads, handmade, one-of-a-kind lampwork glass beads! You should have noticed these when you checked in, but if you stayed in the car, C'mon in! If you need to look at other places, you can try The Maple Sugar House which is located 10 km south of us on Highway 11, or The Eclectic Cottage which is located 13.5 km south of us on Highway 11 also. In Burk's Falls, have a look at the Wooden Roo, they have lots of really nice handmade furniture as well as works of handcrafts and art. Burk's Falls is about 25 km south of us, turn off Highway 11 at Ontario St. We are also part of the Day Tripping Association, which is a co-operative group of artisans in Almaguin. We produce a brochure and map which describes 14 local out of the way places to get locally made souvenirs. |
