A Circumnavigation of the Circumference of Algonquin Provincial Park This trip is a little longer, about 7-8 hours of driving and takes you around Algonquin Park. Snowmobilers love this trip, although it takes them 4 days! Total distance is about 530 Km. From South River, take Highway 11 south to Huntsville, then take Highway 60 east through Algonquin Park to Killaloe Station. Between Huntsville and Whitney (the far side of the Park) there are a number of places to stop, depending on your interests. Moose are often sighted along the highway inside Algonquin Park, as well as lots of really pretty spots to look at the water, trees and rocks! From Killaloe Station, you can take Highway 58 to Pembroke or stay on Hwy. 60 to Highway 41 north to Pembroke. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. From Pembroke, take Highway 17 to North Bay. Be sure to stop in Deep River, because there is almost nowhere to stop again until Mattawa, another 90 Km. The top side of the park is quite empty in terms of towns and stops, just a bunch of trees, rocks and water (which makes it real pleasant to drive through, eh). Continue along 17 to North Bay, then follow Highway 11 south to South River. This tour is quite a ride, both in length and grandeur!
