	Welcome to the website for the Hystorical (Yes, we know) Landmark Algonquin Motel, South River, Ontario! Thanks for dropping by. Tim Hainsworth and Martha Jacobs are thrilled with our lives here. We have infused our own energy and artistic talents into the rooms, and the grounds of this motel! You won't find a place like this place anyplace. Included in this site is all the information that we have about our motel, our neighbourhood, and local attractions/services. Before we get ahead of ourselves, let us present our rooms to you. All of our rooms are equipped with: at least two double beds (some have a Double and a Queen), full sized four piece bathroom (with fantastic showers), telephone, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, free high speed Internet port, and a television with 60 channels including 4 free movie channels and two sports and news networks. Free local calls too! Not bad, eh. When you come to sleep with us, don't forget to make time to be in the great (undiscovered) Almaguin Highlands! Click here for play ideas! We are located in a great part of Ontario, just north enough that the snow in
the winter stays white, yet south enough that you can get here in a reasonable amount of time. (unless you are walking). Most people get here by car, and that is really easy....... we are located right on Highway 11. Click here for a map and ideas for other ways to get here......We see folks in the winter who are going snowmobiling (especially doing the RAP Tour), or dogsledding, or ice fishing, or checking out their cottages, or travelling to or from somewhere else. For our winter friends we have an (outdoor) fire pit that is on wheels, and they can have a campfire right outside their rooms.
		In the summer time, we see lots of folks who are going canoeing in Algonquin Park, or taking kids to local camps, or playing in the woods, or getting the heck out of the city, or going to family reunions, or just travelling to or from somewhere else. We also see lots of folks who are travelling by motorcycle and taking a tour. For our summer friends, we offer several locations for a campfire (all outdoors), BBQ grills, and picnic tables. Let us invite you to enjoy our area, and our facilities and, of course, our amazing hospitality! We have been here, doing this, for almost 22 years now. We are getting very good at making people happy and content.

	The Algonquin Motel is also the home of GROOVY GLASS BEADS!

	Martha and a few other artist friends make these works of Lampwork Glass Art right here and sell them in our bead shop. Watch for live demonstrations, almost every time you come here! Lampworking is an old craft, and refers to the art of melting Italian Murano glass to make beads of varying sizes and shapes and colours, or all of the above! Summer seems to have arrived here now! Check our things to do link... you know, for (summer) things to do... The Algonquin Motel and Algonquin Park, same name, same amazing scenery!! Now is a perfect time of year for walking in the woods, etc........ how romantic..... better stay for the night! Book now for your long weekend escape from the day-to-day. Don't forget to check out our Groovy Glass Beads, even if you are staying somewhere else (but that's just silly). We're (really)(no really) fun to sleep with!! Hurry up. Come join us!

We are also quite excited abut that reservations button at the top of the page! You can now book your rooms directly from here......sort of.... our supplier is still working out some bugs...... like.... this is Canada...... and they are set up for the US only......still works well for our US freinds, and some folks in Canada....... but not all. You can still call us, and we will take your reservation over the phone.
